Locked in an attic by her step mother after the death of her father, Liesl has nothing but the view from her window and the drawings she creates to keep herself company until Po arrives. Po too is locked away, his is the nether world between life and death in which spirits pass on their way to the Other Side. Po shows himself to Liesl because he is fascinated by the sketches Liesl draws by the light of her window, just as Will is fascinated by the beautiful girl that sits at the attic window of the house he passes as he makes deliveries for the alchemist. Thanks to a bungled delivery of powerful magic Liesl, Po and Will will be thrown together in a struggle to flee from evil and find the truth.
