After his summer job at the university falls through, Chris finds another one at the morgue. As unexpected as working at the morgue is, it pales in comparison to the other summer events Chris encounters, such as murder cover-up that leads him to a full-blown blackmail ring. Chris's career of choice is to be a spy, so he decides to investigate the cover-up. He and Tina, a young, sexy reporter looking for her big break, team up to discover that some pretty important citizens in their town are involved in blackmail, corruption, and murder. The plot has plenty of twists and turns and a lot of dry wit. "The Morgue and Me" is an entertaining, intriguing read that will draw in teen and adult readers. It has also been nominated by the Mystery Writers of America for a 2010 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Mystery.
