Rick Riordan, the author of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" has turned out another action, adventure series. "The Red Pyramid" is the first of the "Kane Chronicles", which combine present day teenagers Carter and Sadie Kane with the mysteries of ancient Egypt. Carter and Sadie are the children of the famous Egyptologist Julius Carter who travels the world lecturing about ancient Egypt. But even his children think it is odd when he chooses to spend Christmas Eve with them at the British Museum. Once in the museum strange super-natural things begin to happen, Julius Carter disappears, and his children are left to save their father.
