Orange Street is named after the Valencia orange orchards that used to be grown in the area before houses and people came to live there. All that remains of the Valencia oranges is one lone tree in a vacant lot in the neighborhood. It's sweet, tart fruit are a local treasure to the families in the neighborhood, especially Ali, Robert, Leandra, and Bunny who are planning to dream and play away their summer vacation under the tree until a mysterious stranger arrives. Old Ms. Snoops knows all about change, she has lived there almost as long as the orange tree. Can she or anyone stop the change that is coming? Is all change bad?
