Benji Wendell Barnsworth has been sick for his entire life. Being sickly and small has made him a perfect target for bully Billy Thompson. Benji has missed the most days of school due to illness and Billy has missed the most days of school to detention. After a particularly bad attack, Dr. Helen offers him a choice, wear an ugly green helmet to protect himself which will surly make him a loser at school or get a therapy dog. What she doesn't mention is that the therapy dog is a massive Newfoundland named Parker Elvis Pembroke IV and he talks.
