The Statue of Liberty is well known to Americans and non-Americans. She towers above the ocean holding a tablet and a torch. She greets people as they meet our shores. What you might not have notice is what her feet are doing. In, “Her Right Foot,” the author gives excellent background on the history of the statue and point out, sometime humorously, observations that you may not have thought of yourself.
