Description

Noemi Taboada is abruptly summoned home. Initially, she believes her father will chastise her for attending a party with her date. Noemi's father expects her to find a husband. Instead, she finds unnerving news. Her newly-wed cousin, Catalina, sent a frantic letter begging for help; her husband and family may be scheming to steal her fortune. Suspicious, Noemi is sent to the small town of El Triunfo nestled in the mountains of Hidalgo. There, she finds High Place, a manor buried beneath a thick blanket of fog. Its inhabitants are less than welcoming. Catalina's husband and family are English ex-pats, whose family had sought the wealth of silver buried deep in the mountains of El Triunfo. The only relics left of their once vast fortune is High Place, their run-down manor. They conspire to keep Noemi and Catalina apart. Soon Noemi finds herself sinking further into their lives unable to claw her way out. Can Noemi save her cousin or will she she fall to their charm?
