Description
On April 29, 1992 a jury acquitted the three cops for using excessive force while arresting a man named Rodney King. Riots, looting, fires and violence erupted in the city of Los Angeles. over 50 people died over 2,000 were injured over 1,000 buildings were burned or damaged over 12,000 people were arrested Those are the official facts, but that's not the whole story. while police, firefighters and the National Guard were in focusing on the main riot sites, chaos was taking hold in the rest of Los Angeles county. Gangs and criminal opportunist were taking advantage and taking over. Ryan Gattis has written a fantastic fictional account of what occurred outside of the “official riots.” It is a raw and gritty read that is hard to put down.
