After starting middle school, Amina finds herself dealing with a friend wanting to change, mean girls, and an uncle from Pakistan whom she has never met but her parents feel she might be too Americanized for. Things are changing and she isn’t sure if it’s for good or bad. More gets thrown into the mix when something terrible happens at her mosque.
