The Books of Elsewhere: The Shadows

Jacqueline West
Description
Olive and her parents have moved into an old Victorian home on Linden Street. The house is full of antiques that belonged to the previous owners. Everything in the house seems spooky, especially the paintings on the walls. Olive feels like an intruder in her own home. Things only get stranger after Olive finds some old glasses in a drawer. The glasses allow her to travel into the paintings, into another world called Elsewhere. Elsewhere is creepy, dark and full of secrets. One of the secrets is a boy named Morton who has lived in a painting for years and wants to return to the real world. There is also a sinister force in the shadows that wants out and wants Olive gone. Will Olive be able to save her home and herself? Or will she be left in a painting forever like Morton?
