A Boy Called Dickens

Deborah Hopkinson
Description
Once there was a boy named Charles Dickens who worked 10 hours days in a rat-infested factory because his entire family was in prison for not being able to pay their debts. He barely had enough to eat most days. What got him through these rough times was his imagination. To help pass the time, Charles would use his imagination to make up stories and share them with his friends. His dream was to attend school, read books, and write. Thankfully, Charle's dream came true. He became an author and wrote classics such as "A Christmas Carol," and "A Tale of Two Cities." "A Boy Called Dickens," is a wonderful tale.
