“Ever After,” is a fascinating first volume of the May Bird trilogy that is a little bit the Wizard of Oz and a little bit Beetlejuice plus a dash of Alice in Wonderland. The author is great at describing the fantasy world that May has been thrust into and all the characters within the story.
