Ever After

Jodi Lynn Anderson
Description
May is out exploring the lake in the woods by her house when something grabs her leg. Soon after she starts seeing ghosts. Then one day, as she is exploring a decrepit post office, she comes across a letter addressed to her in all the rubble. Is that possible? It’s from the Lady of the North and she needs May’s help. Determined to find out what is going in, she ventures out to the lake armed with a talismans to ward off evil, and a bathing suit. As she peers in, a woman smiles at her from below only to pull her under, but she doesn’t drown. Where is she? How will she get home? With the help of unlikely friends she begins a quest to find the Lady of the North. “Ever After,” is a fascinating first volume of the May Bird trilogy that is a little bit the Wizard of Oz and a little bit Beetlejuice plus a dash of Alice in Wonderland. The author is great at describing the fantasy world that May has been thrust into and all the characters within the story.
