The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate

Jaqueline Kelly
Description
Calpurnia Tate is a daughter of scientific investigation thanks to her grandfather's tutelage. Unfortunately, it is the summer of 1899 and Callie's mother considers her scientific endeavors to be inappropriate for a well bred young lady from Texas. She must improve her stitchery and knitting, learn to cook, and practice the piano to satisfy her mother. She needs to be more like her best friend Lula who's ultra feminine-beauty has not been lost on Callie's six brothers. But Callie would rather be exploring the river with her bug net and notebook. Somehow, she needs to find a way to grow into a respectable young lady without giving up on her love of nature.
