Sophie and the rest of her royal family of are still living in England after the Nazis took over their tiny island nation of Montmaray. In London, the family is living through blackouts, the Blitz, and food rationing. Everyone is doing what they can to help with the war effort. Toby, King of Montmaray, has become a fighter pilot, Henry has joined the Women's Royal Naval Service (Wrens), and Sophie is helping at the Ministry of Food.
