Sam and Caitlyn find themselves in Oregon with their Aunt, Vicky. Injured, Caitlyn, is happy to stay with her aunt and get away from their parents. Sam, however, yearns to return. She uncovers a card game, Foxes & Squirrels, to pass the time. Soon she finds herself in a real-life game with an adorable fox. He is mercurial and less than trustworthy. To win the game is to return home. Sam will have to face the reason why her mother sent her away.
