Koyanagi Nanoka spends her days people-watching. Alone and ignored by her parents, she travels her neighborhood getting to know its outcasts like her. When her teacher assigns her to identify what happiness means to her, Koyanagi reflects on that while getting to know her hapless neighbors: a girl, who self-harms, the shunned woman, and an elderly woman intent on spending her last days as peacefully as possible. Can Koyanagi find happiness with her chosen family?
