During WW2, British parents sent applied to have their children sent to safety. Many children went to live with relatives. Thirteen year old Ken is being sent to live with the sister of his stepmother/nanny in Canada. As he’s sailing to “safety” an explosion occurs, thanks to a torpedo, and the ship begins to sink. Will he be safe? Would his fate be better had he stayed? This story is one of survival, told in verse and based on a true story.
