Masque of the Red Death is a gothic, horror story based on the Edgar Allen Poe tale of the same name. Araby Worth lives in a world in which a plague has killed most of the population, including her twin brother. The very wealthy, who can afford the costly masks that prevent the disease, rule the city. They rule at behest of Prospero, a cruel, oppressive man who will stop at nothing to continue his choke-hold on the people. Araby is one of the lucky ones due to her father's money and scientific discoveries. Everything changes when Araby meets Will and Elliot. Both men open her eyes to the realities of life. Araby learns some hard secrets about her family and herself. But will she be able to help the resistance before a new plague is unleashed on the city? Masque of the Red Death is an interesting read in what promises to be a great trilogy.
