The Penderwicks are going on holiday for the summer. Rosalind, Jane, Skye and Batty are off to a cozy cottage in the Berkshire Mountains with their father and Hound, their lovable but often head strong dog. Rosalind, the oldest, is concerned about Batty, the youngest, wandering off. Jane is looking forward to writing her next Sabrina Starr adventure and Skye is dreaming of having the adventure herself. Their destination is the beautiful Arundel Estate, not the mansion, but the adjacent cottage. The hardhearted socialite Mrs. Tifton lives in the mansion, and she does not approve of audacious girls like the Penderwick sisters or their ungainly dog.
