It's wash day. Young Sig , his sister Anna and step-mother Nadya are home waiting for Einar to return home after attending to business in town. When he doesn't return , the three of them find Einar frozen on the lake. While Nadya and Anna head into town to fetch help, Sig is forced to sit alone in the small, remote, cabin with his dead, thawing father. That is until a dark, giant and angry stranger shows up. For ten years he has been searching for them. He wants his gold. But Sig doesn't know about any gold. As the story unfolds, Sig discovers himself, the secrets his father kept and that the dead do tell stories.
