Professor Lee Berger had spent most of his life digging up stuff. As a kid, he looked for Indian arrowheads and then as an adult he dug up fossils. But after years of digging, some scientist were talking about giving up on digging and just studying the fossils in a lab. Some said there was nothing left to find. Just about the same time, Professor Berger had discovered Google Earth and how handy it was to study fossil sites. He decided to dig once more and this time he had his 9-year-old son, Matthew with him. Matthew found something that would change everything we knew, or thought we knew, about evolution and humans.
