It began with a book. After finding Anna Karenina while working his night rounds, Jose Alberto Gutierrez resolved to read as much as he could to open up his mind to worlds he had never known before. Soon a hobby blossomed into a magnificent library. In this fictionalized account of Jose Alberto Gutierrez building his library, a young boy, also named Jose, in Bogota discovers the library for the very first time. While the young Jose dreams of lazy Saturday afternoons filled with playing soccer, the older Jose combs the city between stops for books that have been discarded.
